Summary: 1000 AD, for years, One Eye, a mute warrior of supernatural strength, has been held prisoner by the Norse chieftain Barde. Aided by Are, a boy slave, One Eye slays his captor and together he and Are escape, beginning a journey into the heart of darkness. On their flight, One Eye and Are board a Viking vessel, but the ship is soon engulfed by an endless fog that clears only as the crew sights an unknown land. As the new world reveals its secrets and the Vikings confront their terrible and bloody fate, One Eye discovers his true self.
Clar cel mai genial film pe care l-am vazut in utima perioada, VALHALLA RISING este un film de arta, pe care consumatorul obisnuit de filme de actiune nu-l va digera.
Imaginile statice, dialogul verbal slab reprezentat, in favoarea celui telepatic si vizual, caracterele exceptional de bine conturate, iar actorii extrem de sugestivi, fac din acest film o piatra de incercare pentru orice cinefil.
Eroismul, cruzimea, secventele de visat, caracterul principal care ne trimite cu gindul la un avatar al lui Odin venit sa se sacrifice-din nou- pentru cel mai pur din clan, copilul Are, singurul de altfel care il intelege nonverbal pe misteriosul luptator invincibil venit din iad, fac din aceasta experienta vizuala, un eveniment de neuitat. Numai pentru cunoscatori.
